Diploma in Mining Control Room Operation Techniques

Techniques d'operations de salle de controle miniere is an Attestation d'etudes collegiales (AEC, program code ETC.0H) offered by Cegep de Thetford, totaling 645 hours: 405 hours of online coursework combined with 240 hours of workplace training in a mine control room setting. The program trains technicians to supervise and coordinate mining operations in real time, building skills in monitoring live mining operations, analyzing production data and dashboards, and quickly identifying performance deviations so that corrective action can be taken. It is a continuing-education credential aimed at experienced mining sector workers rather than new entrants to the trade. Admission requires either an interruption from full-time study or at least two consecutive sessions of full-time postsecondary study, together with a Diplome d'etudes professionnelles (DEP) in ore extraction or training judged sufficient by the college, and at least two years of relevant full-time industry experience in the mining sector.
