Overview
Cégep de Thetford is a public college of general and vocational education (CEGEP) in Thetford Mines, Quebec, founded in 1969.
It serves roughly 1,180 students on its main campus and operates a satellite site, the Centre d'études collégiales, in Saint-Agapit in the Lotbinière region, delivering six additional programs there. The college's academic offering spans three pre-university DEC pathways, in Natural Sciences, Social Science, and Arts, Literature and Communication, alongside technical DECs in fields such as nursing, pharmacy technology, mechanical and electrical engineering technology, plastics engineering technology, mineral technology, specialized education, business administration, and computer science technology.
A parallel slate of Attestation of Collegiate Studies (AEC) programs targets adult learners and career changers in areas including early childhood education, industrial electronics, and residential real estate brokerage. Student life centers on the Filons athletics program, which fields more than 350 student-athletes across nine varsity sports and draws large crowds to home football games, supported by a Desjardins-branded sports complex, an on-site library, and nearby student residences.
The college also welcomes international students from about a dozen countries and maintains an alumni and fundraising foundation.
