Intervention en travail social is an Attestation d'etudes collegiales (AEC, program code JWW.0K) offered by Cegep de Thetford over 14 months (1,200 hours) of full-time, daytime study delivered entirely online. The program prepares students to work with children, adolescents, adults, seniors, families, groups and communities facing social problems such as poverty, suicide, mental illness and substance abuse. Coursework builds skills in social intervention methods, relationship building, and case follow-up with vulnerable populations. Graduates are trained to work within community organizations rather than in clinical or institutional settings, and are prepared for roles supporting people facing social exclusion or personal crisis. Typical employers include women's centers, mental health organizations, seniors' centers, mutual aid groups, and other community and social-service associations. Admission requires a secondary school diploma (DES) or recognized equivalent, along with a period of interruption from full-time study, and completion of a selection process that includes an online interview supported by a CV and motivation letter.
