This Diploma of Vocational Studies (DEP) in Furniture and Architectural Woodwork Finishing (Finition de mobiliers et d'unités architecturales), program code 5396, is offered by the École nationale du meuble et de l'ébénisterie (ENM), the furniture and woodworking school of Cégep de Victoriaville. The program runs 840 hours over nine months and trains students in the finishing trades applied to furniture and architectural millwork. Coursework covers determining the equipment and estimating the quantity of finishing products needed for a job, then preparing and applying coating and staining products to wood surfaces. Training takes place in a dedicated finishing workshop equipped with spray booths and an infrared curing oven, alongside a laboratory used for mixing custom colours and finishes. Graduates are prepared to work as finishers in furniture manufacturing plants, cabinetry shops, and companies producing architectural woodwork, applying stains, varnishes, lacquers, and other coating systems to a professional standard.
