Interior Decorating is a one-year, full-time certificate that develops the knowledge and skills required for entry-level interior decorating work. Coursework covers design principles and processes for enhancing the functionality, accessibility, and quality of interior spaces, alongside communication and sales techniques for working with clients and industry professionals on hands-on design projects. In the final term, students complete a 270-hour work-integrated learning placement through a co-operative work experience course, applying classroom learning in a professional design setting and building industry connections ahead of graduation. The program is a newly developed offering in RRC Polytech's program catalogue and combines practical design work with client-facing business skills, preparing graduates for entry-level roles in residential and commercial interior decorating. Applicants with related business experience are also considered for admission and may be asked to complete an interview.
