Teaching is in French. Tuition for international students is CAD 15,150 per year (CAD 3,740 per year for local students).
The Techniques de l'informatique program (420.B0) at the Cégep de Lanaudière's Joliette campus is a three-year technical DEC focused on the conception and development of computer applications. Admission takes place in the fall, and the program can be completed in an alternance travail-études (work-study) format with paid internships, alongside a 10-week full-time placement near the end of studies, and is available with a DEC-BAC pathway to university. Students learn to program in Java, C# and for mobile devices, build websites and web applications using JavaScript and PHP, and manage databases with SQL, while gaining an understanding of how computers and common software operate and taking part in the analysis, development and deployment of computerized management systems. The Joliette campus highlights an experienced teaching team and access to high-performance computer equipment. The program suits students who are curious about emerging technologies, enjoy analytical problem-solving and are persevering, with interests in software applications, programming and cutting-edge technology, and who are aiming toward careers or further study in application development, web development, systems analysis or database administration.
