Diploma in Sciences humaines is a diploma in Criminal Law & Justice programme offered by Champlain Regional College in Sherbrooke, Canada. The programme runs for 2 years. Teaching is in French. Tuition for international students is CAD 15,150 per year (CAD 3,740 per year for local students).
The Criminology profile of the Sciences humaines (Social Science) DEC is offered at Champlain College Saint-Lambert as a two-year pre-university diploma. It is a multidisciplinary option built around anthropology, sociology, psychology and criminology coursework, including topics such as qualitative and quantitative research methods, the history of crime and punishment, forensic anthropology and the psychology of criminal behaviour, alongside the English, French, humanities and physical education courses common to all DEC programs. The program culminates in a final integrative research project. It is explicitly not a pre-law program, though graduates who continue to university may pursue law among other fields. Entry requires Secondary 4 Cultural, Social and Technical Mathematics. The profile suits students drawn to the study of crime, justice and human behaviour who want a broad social-science foundation before specializing at university. Fields graduates may pursue after further university study include corrections, probation, law enforcement, private policing, journalism, and research or policy roles within the criminal justice system, in addition to law and other social-science disciplines.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: This programme page (the Criminology profile in Social Science) requires a Quebec Secondary School Diploma or a level of education the college deems equivalent, plus Secondary IV Cultural, Social and Technical Mathematics 4 (563414 or 063414). The page states no programme-specific language test; general Champlain College Saint-Lambert requirements apply, as published on the college's Admissions Information page: domestic applicants apply through the college's own Omnivox system rather than SRAM, with deadlines of March 1st for Fall (applications open January 15th) and November 1st for Winter. International applicants, or anyone whose mother tongue or prior schooling was not English, must submit TOEFL (minimum 75 Internet-based or 540 Paper-based) or IELTS (minimum 6.5 overall, or 6.0 overall with no component below 5.5), along with a Quebec-immigration equivalency for their prior schooling, a CAQ, study permit and approved health insurance; certified diploma copies are due by August 1st. Students are placed into High or Low French Proficiency streams based on placement grades; see the college's Bill 96 FAQ for Certificate Holder details.
Application Details
Application Deadline:Applications to Champlain College-Lennoxville go through the Service regional d'admission du Montreal metropolitain (SRAM). First-round deadlines for Fall 2027 entry are 1 March 2027 for Quebec and Canadian applicants and 15 March 2027 for international applicants; for Winter 2027 entry the first-round deadlines are 1 November 2026 domestically and 1 June 2026 for international applicants, the latter already past by this fetch date. Missing the first round is not final: SRAM opens second and third rounds with remaining seats, though spaces are very limited, and round-one decisions become available from 2 April. Admission therefore runs through successive SRAM rounds rather than a single hard cutoff, so later applicants are still considered while seats remain. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
