Bishop's University is a public, primarily undergraduate, English-language university in Sherbrooke, in Quebec's Eastern Townships.

Founded in 1843 with the stated goal of offering the country a sound and liberal education, it remains the smallest of Quebec's English-language universities, with about 2,800 full-time students on a 550-acre campus set between two rivers, many of them living in residence. Academic life is organized in five faculties and schools - the Williams School of Business, the Faculty of Humanities, the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics, the Faculty of Social Sciences, and the School of Education - spanning twenty-five departments and more than 100 prograMs. Undergraduate degrees include the BA, BSc, BBA and BEd, with published durations of three or four years, and programs are deliberately flexible: more than half of students graduate with more than one concentration.

Graduate study covers thesis- and course-based MSc programs in Computer Science and Physics, a Master of Education, and a Doctor of Psychology in clinical psychology. First- and second-year classes average about 40 students.

For 2026-2027, tuition for a standard 30-credit year is $3,117.60 for Quebec residents, $9,730.50 for other Canadians and $29,510.43 for international students, plus $1,913.85 in compulsory fees; residence and meal plans are estimated at roughly $5,900 and $6,532 respectively.

Canadian high-school applicants are guided toward an estimated minimum 80% admission average, and every applicant must show English proficiency. The university distributes more than $7 million a year in scholarships, awards and bursaries, and about 55% of students receive some form of financial assistance.
