Overview

The Entrepreneurship Certificate is a one-year, 30-credit programme at Coast Mountain College teaching the practical skills needed to develop a business plan and start a small business. It is offered at the Prince Rupert campus. Admission requires English 12 (or First Peoples English 12, or CMTN's ENGL 050/055) and a Grade 11 or 12 math credit, or equivalent, or completion of the Office Assistant and Accounting certificates with a 'B' average through CMTN's Applied Business Technology programme, or a passing score on the Canadian Achievement Test. Graduates receive 21 transfer credits toward CMTN's Business Administration Diploma, allowing the certificate to serve as an entry point into further business studies as well as a stand-alone credential for aspiring small-business owners.

Requirements

Admission Requirements: English 12, First Peoples English 12, or CMTN ENGL 050/055, plus Principles of Math 11, Applications of Math 12, or CMTN MATH 0401/0402/046, or equivalent; alternatively, an Office Assistant Certificate plus Accounting Certificate (both with a 'B' average) from CMTN's Applied Business Technology Program, or successful completion of the Canadian Achievement Test (CAT).
