Metal Fabrication and Welding is a certificate program offered by CCNB that trains students to fabricate, assemble, and install metal structures and assemblies. Coursework covers welding, riveting, and bolting techniques used to shape and join sheet metal and structural components, along with reading technical and fabrication plans. The 37-week program, delivered at the Bathurst campus, includes an industrial work placement that lets students apply assembly and welding skills in a production setting. Graduates typically work as metal fabricators, platers, and structural-frame assemblers and fitters. It suits students who enjoy manual, physical work building practical objects, like working with metal, can sustain concentration on precision tasks, and are comfortable analyzing and working from technical drawings. The program is offered at CCNB's Bathurst campus, where students train in shop facilities equipped for cutting, forming, and joining metal before moving into their industrial placement.
