Overview
Engineering University Transfer Certificate is a one-year, two-term certificate at NorQuest College that provides a supportive entry point into engineering education. Students complete 12 required courses covering foundational engineering knowledge, diversity in engineering, communication, research, and problem-solving, alongside opportunities to learn from professional engineers and collaborate on real-world projects. Graduates who achieve a GPA of 2.5 or higher can transfer into the second year of the Bachelor of Science in Engineering at the University of Alberta. The program prepares students for further study across disciplines including biomedical, chemical, civil, computer, electrical, environmental, materials, mechanical, mining, petroleum, and software engineering. It is offered full-time only, with no part-time study option. The program qualifies for a post-graduate work permit in Canada, but is not currently open to international students.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Applicants must achieve a 70% combined average across English Language Arts (ELA) 30-1, Mathematics 30-1, Mathematics 31, Chemistry 30, and Physics 30, with a minimum of 70% in Mathematics 30-1, or meet NorQuest's recognized equivalencies for missing prerequisites.
