Building Engineering Technology is a diploma program offered by the Collège communautaire du Nouveau-Brunswick (CCNB) that trains students to design efficient, durable buildings and to develop the mechanical, electrical, architectural, and structural plans behind them, including the systems used for comfort and energy efficiency. Coursework covers reinforced-concrete and steel-structure design, plumbing-system design, applied thermodynamics and statics, residential and commercial architectural drafting, building information modelling (BIM), topometry, commercial project estimation, quality assurance, and technical writing, along with English-language courses at the A2 and B1.1 levels. The 74-week program includes an international workplace stage in building engineering technology and is offered at the Bathurst campus, leading to a diploma in Building Engineering Technology. Graduates are prepared for roles such as architectural technologists and technicians, drafting technologists and technicians, surveying technologists and technicians, mechanical-engineering technologists and technicians, and construction estimators.
