Overview
Tremplin DEC – Option orientation et exploration is a transitional pathway at Collège de Maisonneuve for students who have not yet settled on a program of study. Rather than being a credentialed program in itself, it lets students begin their general-education coursework while exploring different fields, and, where eligibility allows, take a limited number of courses from the specific curriculum of other programs offered at the college. Alongside this exploration, students build two competencies considered essential for a successful transition to college studies: using effective learning strategies and planning an academic and career path. The pathway runs for a maximum of three consecutive terms and does not by itself lead to a Diploma of Collegial Studies (DEC); students who complete it must apply to transfer into a chosen program for the following term. General-education courses passed during Tremplin DEC are credited toward that future program, and courses from other programs' specific curricula are recognized if they belong to the chosen program, or counted as complementary courses up to a limit. Admission is not open-ended; later applicants are placed only while seats remain. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
