Overview
Technologie du génie civil is a three-year, full-time technical DEC at the main Salaberry-de-Valleyfield campus, with a fall intake, covering building structures, site inspection, surveying, soil and materials analysis, and project management according to the page. It runs on an alternance travail-études (work-study) model with paid placements during two summers plus an additional placement built into the school-year schedule. The program follows a "DEC portable" approach requiring students to use a personal laptop throughout coursework and internships to support mastery of industry software, and includes an apprentissage en milieu de travail component under which the page states at least twenty percent of program-specific training hours take place on job sites with industry partners. Students obtain the general construction-site health-and-safety card (ASP construction) within their first weeks of study. The page also notes the college expanded its facilities specifically to accommodate the program in newly built, modern spaces.
