Program details

Overview

This program leads to two credentials completed together over two years: the International Baccalaureate (IB) diploma and Quebec's Diplome d'etudes collegiales (DEC) in Human Sciences. Alongside the humanities curriculum, students complete the IB core, including at least three mathematics courses, an English course each semester, a Theory of Knowledge course, an independent research extended essay, and the Creativity-Activity-Service (CAS) component, plus science coursework that includes a sport, exercise, and health sciences component. Students choose between two profiles, Business Management and Economics, which give access to comparable ranges of university programs depending on the mathematics pathway followed. It is delivered full-time at the college's Montreal campus with an emphasis on collaborative and internationally oriented learning. The program suits motivated, academically strong students seeking enriched English-language instruction and an internationally recognized diploma alongside their pre-university preparation in the human sciences.

Requirements

Minimum GPA: 75.00 / %
Admission Requirements: Applicants need the Quebec Diploma of Secondary Studies (DES). The International Baccalaureate Human Sciences programme's own page additionally requires Secondary 5 Mathematics in the Natural Sciences or Technico-Sciences sequence, and states a minimum overall secondary average of 75% with a minimum 75% average in mathematics specifically, both calculated from compulsory Secondary 4 and 5 coursework. No language proficiency test or interview is stated. Over the two-year International Baccalaureate track, students complete Theory of Knowledge, an independent extended essay, the Creativity-Activity-Service (CAS) component, at least three mathematics courses, sport/exercise/health-science courses and two further courses in languages or international studies, earning both the IB Diploma and the Quebec DEC.

Application Details

Application Deadline: Domestic applicants to Collège Jean-de-Brébeuf may apply directly to the college or through SRAM. As published on the college's own site, Automne 2026 admissions are now closed, and Hiver (Winter) 2027 admissions open on 15 September 2026 at noon; the college's FAQ separately recommends applying before 1 March each year since spots are limited, though no year is attached to that recurring advice and Automne 2027 dates are not yet posted. International candidates cannot apply for the Winter session unless they already hold a CAQ and study permit, and no fixed international deadline is published for the Fall intake. Admission is not stated as fully rolling; places are limited and early domestic files are favoured. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
