Soins préhospitaliers d'urgence is a DEC paramedic program at Cégep de Shawinigan that prepares students to respond to medical, traumatic, psychological, and other emergency calls as well as non-urgent transport calls. Admission Requirements: Admission is based on the Diplôme d'études secondaires (DES), completed with Langue d'enseignement de 5e secondaire, Langue seconde de 5e secondaire, Mathématiques de 4e secondaire, Sciences de 4e secondaire (ST, ATS or equivalent) and Histoire et éducation à la citoyenneté de 4e secondaire; a Diplôme d'études professionnelles (DEP) covering the same secondary-5 language courses and secondary-4 mathematics is also accepted, as is training the Cégep judges equivalent. The secondary-5 French-language-of-instruction and second-language courses embedded in the DES stand in for a separate language requirement on this domestic programme page, which publishes no French or English proficiency test score. Selection also weighs the strength of the applicant's academic record. Candidates must hold a class 5 driver's licence (regular or probationary) by the time of enrolment, or undertake to obtain a class 4A licence before their fifth session. Clinical placement sites may require a declaration of no criminal record, and students must provide proof of vaccination against certain conditions; lacking either can mean a placement is refused. Application Deadline:Domestic (Quebec/Canadian) applicants apply through SRAM (admission.sram.qc.ca): for the Hiver (Winter) 2027 session the portal opened September 15, 2026, with Round 1 closing November 1, 2026 and Round 2 closing November 25, 2026; for Automne (Fall) 2027 entry, SRAM's fixed system-wide Round 1 cutoff is March 1, 2027, though the college has not yet posted 2027-specific Round 2/3 dates (Automne 2026 saw April 23 and May 28, 2026 for those rounds). International applicants face fixed, non-rolling SRAM deadlines instead of rounds: March 14 for Automne entry and May 31 for Hiver entry, with no exceptions once the date passes.
