Overview
This Master of Science in Marketing is a thesis-based graduate program at Concordia University, delivered on the Sir George Williams campus over two years with a single fall intake. The curriculum combines coursework in applied statistics, research methods, marketing research foundations, and marketing theory with elective seminars on topics such as consumer behaviour, brand management, pricing, and sustainability in marketing. Students complete a thesis proposal followed by a research thesis, developing the ability to design and manage substantial independent research projects. A paid co-op internship of four or eight months is available for students who want to apply their coursework in a professional setting before completing their studies. Admission requires a bachelor's degree with a B average (minimum 3.00 GPA) in the final two years of study and, for non-native English speakers, proof of English proficiency. Both full-time and part-time study are offered. The program suits students aiming for research-oriented or analytical roles in brand management, new product development, communications, or marketing research, as well as those considering further graduate study.
Requirements
Minimum GPA:3.00 / 4.3
Admission Requirements: Concordia requires a bachelor's degree with high academic standing for direct entry to this Master of Science in Marketing at the John Molson School of Business; the program sets a minimum GPA of 3.00 on Concordia's 4.30 scale, drawn from at least a B average over the final two years of undergraduate study, and applicants whose background is judged insufficient may be asked to complete prerequisite courses alongside the required coursework. The program page notes that applicants are no longer required to submit GMAT or GRE scores. Applicants whose primary language is not English must meet John Molson's graduate English-proficiency requirement, published on Concordia's School of Graduate Studies site: IELTS Academic 7.0 overall with no band below 6.5, TOEFL iBT 90 with no section under 20, PTE Academic 61 with no part under 53, or Duolingo English Test 120. The file must also include three letters of recommendation submitted with Academic Assessment forms and a short statement of purpose.
Application Details
Start Date:September
Application Deadline:Domestic applicants, including Quebec CEGEP graduates, apply directly to Concordia: for Fall 2027 entry (September start) the application deadline is 1 March 2027, and for Winter 2027 entry (January start) it is 1 November 2026; not all programs admit in Winter. Concordia sets the same formal deadlines for U.S. and international applicants but strongly recommends applying earlier - by 1 February 2027 for Fall or 1 August 2026 for Winter - to allow time for immigration processing. Late applications are considered if space remains, and Concordia does not publish a separate application-opening date. Graduate programs, including the Executive MBA, set their own per-program deadlines rather than following this university-wide undergraduate date. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
