Overview
The MA in Creative Arts Therapies (Music Therapy) is the only advanced professional training program of its kind in Quebec. It is delivered as a low-residency online program, with two semesters of core coursework in the first year followed by supervised practice or research. Students choose between a Research with Thesis option, which includes a 21-credit thesis component, and an Advanced Music Therapy Practice option built around a capstone project and electives. The program requires 45 credits over two years of full-time study. Admission requires a bachelor's degree in Music Therapy that includes a 1,000-hour clinical internship, or an equivalent graduate certificate or diploma in Music Therapy, with no less than a B average (3.00 on a 4.30 scale). Applicants whose first language is not English must demonstrate sufficient proficiency for graduate study. The program admits students in the Fall term, with an application deadline of December 15.
