Program details
Overview
The Nanoscience and Nanotechnology program leads to a Master of Science (MSc) or Master of Applied Science (MASc) and is a thesis-based, interdisciplinary program focused on the study of nanoscale materials and devices. Students are introduced to a broad range of theories and hands-on laboratory skills spanning physics, chemistry, and engineering, and complete original research culminating in a master's thesis. The program requires 45 credits over two years of full-time study. Admission requires a bachelor's degree with high academic standing in physics, chemistry, biochemistry, or a related science discipline, or in engineering. Applicants whose first language is not English must demonstrate sufficient proficiency for graduate study. The program admits students in the Fall term, with funding packages, including awards and assistantships, generally available to thesis-based students.
