Overview
Your first year of this degree is comprised of a common first year, offered across all of Conestoga’s Engineering degrees. In this first year, you will be exposed to specializations across the broad field of Engineering. As a student, you will explore a rich blend of interdisciplinary topics covering mechanical, industrial, and control engineering, enabling you to design complex mechanical systems for automation. Using a project-based approach, you will learn to solve real-world engineering problems and develop strong skills incorporating business methodologies, project management, and environmental protection. As you work on increasingly complex projects, you will build upon fundamental technical knowledge by gradually applying advanced leading technologies and integrating your evolving design, manufacturing, and automation skills. This project work and twelve months of paid co-op opportunities will thoroughly prepare you for a rewarding career in various engineering fields.

Admission Requirements: Direct entry requires an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD), or equivalent, or applicant age 19 or older by the program start. Conestoga requires six Grade 12 courses at a minimum cumulative average of 65%, including English (ENG4U) or Preparatory Communications for Degrees, Chemistry (SCH4U), Physics (SPH4U), Calculus and Vectors (MCV4U), one further Mathematics course (Advanced Functions or Mathematics of Data Management), and one other Grade 12 U or M course; higher averages are often required where the program is competitive, and basic computer literacy is expected. Graduates of a three-year diploma in mechanical engineering technology may apply with advanced standing. Applicants whose prior instruction was not in English must meet Conestoga's institution-wide degree-program English requirement: IELTS Academic 6.5 overall (no band under 6.0), TOEFL iBT 88 (no skill under 22), PTE Academic 58, CAEL 70 (no sub-test under 60), or Duolingo 120. Applicants from outside Canada require a course-by-course credential evaluation.

International applicants apply directly to Conestoga and are assessed on a rolling, first-come, first-served basis until each program fills; no fixed international closing date is published.
