Overview
We emphasize learning effective techniques for designing, installing, modifying, testing, maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting equipment. You will learn these design and analysis skills on our modern campus through in-class theory, hands-on labs, and a capstone project. These will lead you to careers in electrical design (utility, consultant, manufacturing), electrification, system operator (utility), building automation, field service, energy consultant, estimation, project management, and technical sales.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Direct entry requires an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD), or equivalent, or applicant age 19 or older under mature-student status, Grade 12 compulsory English at C or U or equivalent (or Conestoga's Preparatory Communications COMM1251), and Grade 12 Mathematics from MCT4C (60%), MHF4U or MCV4U (55%), MDM4U (70%), or equivalent, or Preparatory Mathematics for Technology & Apprenticeship MATH1385 (60%); applicants holding only MAP4C are not considered for this programme. Basic computer literacy is required, and the page notes a sound mathematical background is important for success. Applicants whose transcripts were not issued in English must demonstrate proficiency; the programme page defers to Conestoga's institution-wide scale of IELTS Academic overall 6.0 (no band under 5.5), TOEFL iBT 80 (no skill under 20), PTE Academic 53, CAEL 70 (writing at least 60), or Duolingo English Test 110. Foreign credentials require a course-by-course evaluation through ICAS or WES.
