Program details

Overview

Delivered part-time online, the certificate covers the practice, theory and real-world application behind collecting and treating wastewater, introducing concepts used in municipal and comparable industrial systems. Students examine support systems centred on pumps, motors and processes within the collection and treatment chain, building toward the knowledge needed to sit certification exams at various levels, and the Ontario Water Wastewater Certification Office recognizes it for operators pursuing continuing education credits.

Requirements

Admission Requirements: Conestoga's programme page for this part-time continuing-education certificate states a single admission bar and refers applicants generally to the college's admissions process: applicants need an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD), or equivalent, or must be at least 19 years of age or older. No English-language-proficiency test scores, portfolio, interview or other conditions are published on the programme page itself. Per Conestoga's general domestic admissions information, applicants whose prior education was not in English, or whose transcripts are from outside Canada, must have those transcripts assessed by a credential evaluation service such as ICAS or WES and must also demonstrate English proficiency; Conestoga states it publishes no single domestic test-score table, so the required evidence is the one set out on the individual program page, which here is silent on scores. Applications are made through Ontario Colleges (ontariocolleges.ca), with final selection made after assessment of the stated requirement.

Application Details

Application Deadline: Domestic applicants apply through ontariocolleges.ca (college code CONS): for the Fall 2027 intake the online application opens 26 September 2026, the equal consideration date is 1 February 2027, offers may be issued from 1 November 2026, and accepted offers must be confirmed by 1 May 2027; most oversubscribed programs stop accepting applications after 1 February 2027, though many programs remain open afterward. Conestoga does not publish a separate equal-consideration date for its January intake. International applicants apply directly to Conestoga and are assessed on a rolling, first-come, first-served basis until each program fills; no fixed international closing date is published. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
