Overview

Machining for Manufacturing is a one-year Ontario College Graduate Certificate at Conestoga's Kitchener - Doon campus. The program prepares mechanical engineering graduates and machinists to respond to the demands of the modern manufacturing industry through hands-on instruction in current machining techniques and practices, including benchwork, milling, turning, and the design of work-holding devices. Students also examine practices and processes used by leaders in the manufacturing sector. The program is intended for graduates of mechanical engineering or related diploma, advanced diploma, or degree programs, or those with at least two years of related mechanical engineering or machinist work experience, and prepares graduates for supervisory and technical roles in manufacturing operations. The credential is delivered over two academic terms at the Kitchener - Doon campus and builds on prior mechanical engineering study or hands-on machining experience.
