MA/MS in Occupational Therapy

The Master of Science in Occupational Therapy (entry-level) is a course-based graduate program delivered full-time and in person at Dalhousie's Halifax campus over 24 months. It combines academic study with hands-on learning in enhanced learning labs to prepare students to help people manage challenges arising from injury, illness, or environmental barriers. Fieldwork totals 1,000 hours, including community-based experiences and three full-time placements, for which students cover their own travel and living costs. The program is accredited by the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists and the World Federation of Occupational Therapists. It suits students holding a four-year bachelor's degree with prerequisite coursework in human anatomy and a social science, who are aiming for careers in settings such as community and inpatient mental health centres, hospitals, day-care centres, assistive technology programs, and correctional facilities.
