Diploma in Interactive Media Arts

Interactive Media Arts is a profile within Dawson College's Arts, Literature and Communication Diploma of Collegial Studies (DEC), a two-year pre-university program offered exclusively at Dawson College. The program combines creative and artistic training with technology through project-based, hands-on learning. Students create interactive installations, games, apps, and music and sound/video art, working with tools such as micro-controllers and game engines. Admission requires a Diploma of Secondary Studies (DES) or an academic background judged equivalent to the DES; no prior technical knowledge or portfolio is required. Students have access to a dedicated computer lab and a fully equipped production workshop, with after-hours access available. Alongside profile courses, students complete the general education courses required of all Arts, Literature and Communication students. Graduates receive a DEC and are prepared for university studies in interactive media, game design, or digital art. The program is delivered at Dawson College's downtown Montreal campus.
