Diploma in 3D Animation and Computer Generated Imagery

3D Animation and Computer Generated Imagery is a three-year technical program at Dawson College leading to a Diploma of Collegial Studies (DEC), Profile 574.C0. The program covers digital animation and computer-generated imagery from creative storytelling and character design through to visual effects and project management. Students train in an integrated motion-capture studio as part of the program's production facilities and complete a thesis project in the final year, applying the full animation pipeline to an original piece of work. The curriculum prepares graduates for careers in animation, visual effects, and related digital-media production. Admission includes a portfolio submission alongside academic requirements, and a drawing exercise may also be required. The program is delivered over six academic semesters of full-time study.
