It traces its roots to 1908, when the Congregation de Notre-Dame founded it as the first institution of higher learning for English-speaking Catholic women in Quebec. Since 2007 it has been based in a restored heritage building at 4873 Westmount Avenue, between the Vendome and Villa-Maria metro stations, a property it purchased outright from its founding congregation in 2024.
