Physiotherapy Technology is a three-year Diploma of Collegial Studies (DEC) technical program at Dawson College that trains students to work alongside physiotherapists and physicians supporting patients' recovery of strength, movement and mobility. The curriculum builds clinical judgement and problem-solving skills alongside patient intervention techniques using exercise, hands-on manual techniques and electrical modalities. Clinical placements in the second and third years take place in hospitals and clinics under professional supervision, and students also treat community members through affiliated clinical centres as part of their training. The program suits students interested in rehabilitation, patient care and hands-on clinical work. Graduates work as physiotherapy technologists in hospitals, clinics and private practice, or continue to university studies in physiotherapy, kinesiology or athletic therapy. Admission requires Secondary V physics and a video statement; a criminal record check and proof of immunization are required after admission.
