Overview

Through two field placements, one optional, students will synthesize in-class theory and real-world experience. This program's final semester includes an integrative project that allows students to apply their knowledge and skills to complete a construction project through the entire lifecycle as part of a team. Students research construction materials, theory, and methods to successfully complete their project and leverage their technical, analytical, and creative skills to solve problems that arise during the project.

Requirements

Minimum GPA: 65.00 / %

Admission Requirements: Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or Mature Student Status, plus six Grade 12 U or M courses averaging a minimum of 65 per cent combined. Within those six, Grade 12 U English must finish at 60 per cent or better and Grade 12 U mathematics likewise; calculus, vectors and physics are recommended. Applicants coming in under Mature Student Status need Grade 12 U English and Grade 12 U mathematics at 60 per cent apiece, and post-secondary study in English and mathematics can count. International applicants must meet Durham's bachelor-degree English band: IELTS Academic 6.5 with no band below 6.0; TOEFL iBT 88 with no section under 22 (4.5 overall and per section once tests are taken on or after 21 January 2026); PTE Academic 60 with nothing under 57; CAEL 70 with nothing under 70; or Duolingo 115.
