Overview
Become an integral part of assuring the safety and integrity of the infrastructure, components, and structures as they are built or used in service in society. Learn about materials and specific testing methods to examine cars, rail systems, airplanes, spacecraft, buildings, bridges, ships, power plants, and amusement park rides, to name a few, to identify and analyze possible defects. In addition to gaining practical hands-on experience, Inspection, Quality Control and Non-destructive Testing graduates will be eligible to receive recognized training certificates required for Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) personnel qualification in Canada and worldwide, upon successful course completion.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Domestic entry runs through Ontario's college application system: the minimum is an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or an equivalent Grade 12 diploma from another Canadian province, or Mature Student Status for applicants 19 or older who have not finished high school. On top of that general route this program requires Grade 12 English at the C or U level and Grade 12 mathematics at the C, M or U level; Grade 11 or 12 physics and drafting are recommended preparation but not mandatory prerequisites. Applicants without a Canadian credential may instead demonstrate English proficiency to Durham College's institution-wide standard for certificate, diploma and graduate-certificate programs: IELTS Academic 6.0 overall with no band below 5.5, TOEFL iBT 88 overall with no section below 22, PTE Academic 53 overall with no section below 49, CAEL 60 with no section below 60, or Duolingo English Test 110 or higher.
