Applicants whose first language is not English must meet Fanshawe's proficiency standard: IELTS Academic overall 6.5 with no band under 6.0, TOEFL iBT overall 5 with no band under 4.5, PTE Academic 58 with no band under 50, or Duolingo 120 with no section under 105 (CAEL, Cambridge English and LanguageCert Academic equivalents also accepted). Fanshawe recommends proficiency in mathematics, business communication and Microsoft Office as useful preparation, and offers advanced standing based on prior academic achievement or Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition (PLAR).
