Diploma in Paramedic at Fleming College in Peterborough, Canada is a diploma in Medicine & Health programme. The programme runs for 4 semesters, delivered on campus. Teaching is in English. Tuition for international students is CAD 20,879 per year (CAD 7,694 per year for local students).
Graduates of this diploma qualify as primary care paramedics and become eligible to write the provincial examination; passing it leads to Advanced Emergency Medical Care Assistant certification from the province. Once the program and provincial paramedic exams are complete, graduates are eligible to work as primary care paramedics in ambulance services across Ontario, with the option to later upgrade their skills toward advanced care or critical care paramedic roles. Other possible paths include work in health and safety or rescue services, and the diploma is described as useful for those pursuing firefighting or policing roles, particularly in remote areas where paramedic or emergency medical care may not otherwise be available.
