Overview
Ce programme offre une formation rigoureuse en techniques de neurodiagnostic visant l'évaluation de patients souffrant de troubles neurologiques : apprentissage de la neuroanatomie, utilisation d'appareils spécialisés et collecte et analyse des signaux électriques émis par les systèmes nerveux central et périphérique. La formation couvre l'électroencéphalographie (EEG), les études de conductions nerveuses (ECN) et la polysomnographie (PSG), avec cinq cours pratiques au collège et un stage à temps plein de 14 semaines. La personne diplômée peut occuper un poste de technicienne ou technicien, puis de technologue après accréditation auprès du CBRET et de l'Association canadienne des technologues en électroneurodiagnostique (CAET).

Admission Requirements: Domestic entry — Ontario: OSSD or a Canadian equivalent, or at 19 or over satisfactory scores of 250 in reading comprehension and 265 in numeracy; required courses Biology SBI3C or SBI3U and Mathematics MAP4C, MCR3U or MCF3M. Quebec: Biology ST 055404, STE 058404 or Biologie 534 and Mathematics TS 064406 or SN 065406. New Brunswick: Biology 53411 and Mathematics 30321B. An applicant short on mathematics can be admitted by passing the mathematics achievement test (TRM) or La Cité's preparatory mathematics course. International applicants must hold a secondary-school diploma or baccalaureate, or be in their final secondary year with proof of enrolment. This is not one of La Cité's quota programmes, but if eligible applicants outnumber the seats at 1 February the college ranks them on school test results or secondary marks with priority to Ontario residents; Présciences de la santé transfers also get priority. Before placements: a criminal background check; a complete immunisation record through the college's clinique cSanté; an N-95 fit test, offered at stage 3 and repeated every two years; a student card; and the mandatory training — level-C standard first aid and CPR-AED (16 hours) from a recognised body, AODA training, WHMIS, the CNFS Offre active module and anything the host site requires. Placements are mostly in Ontario, sometimes outside Ottawa, and can run days, evenings, nights and weekends, so effective English with patients and the care team is expected.
