Requirements

Admission Requirements: Admission is competitive on academic achievement and requires an Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent plus Grade 12 English (C or U) at a minimum grade of 60 per cent. Applicants 19 or older with no OSSD may apply as mature students and sit the George Brown Admissions Assessment in English or complete the equivalent upgrading credit. This programme page does not restate a language-test table, but George Brown's institution-wide English Proficiency requirement applies to applicants whose prior study was not in English: IELTS Academic 6.0 overall (minimum 5.5 per band), TOEFL iBT 80 (minimum 20 per skill), PTE Academic 54 (minimum 50 per skill), CAEL 60 overall, or Duolingo 110 (minimum 90 production). Before placement, students must hold a clear Vulnerable Sector Check renewed annually, complete a Ministry-approved crisis-intervention training certificate in their fifth semester, and may need to show proof of vaccination for clinical partners.
