Overview
Students are provided with the theoretical knowledge and technical skills to enter the electrical workforce. Classroom learning is combined with extensive hands-on experience in well-equipped, modern labs. Students are introduced to power transmission and distribution and robotics as well as maintenance and troubleshooting techniques for industry, with a strong focus on health and safety. Computer aided drafting, electronic and digital circuits, microprocessors, programming and programmable logic controllers are also studied. Students gain valuable experience during a co-op work term, while developing industry contacts for possible post-graduation employment opportunities.

Admission Requirements: Georgian College's own admission-requirements page for Electrical Engineering Technician (Co-Op) asks for an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent, or mature-student status, with Grade 12 English (C or U) and Grade 12 Mathematics (C or U). Mature applicants 19 or older without an OSSD, non-secondary-school applicants, and home-schooled applicants can also be considered, meeting eligibility through equivalent courses, upgrading, a completed GED, or equivalency testing, and applicants with relevant post-secondary coursework or prior credit are assessed through credit-transfer evaluation. The page states no standardized English-language test scores (IELTS, TOEFL, PTE, Duolingo or CAEL); international applicants are directed to Georgian's international-admissions team for language requirements.
