Overview
This 45-credit graduate program leads to a Master of Science (MSc) in operations and supply chain management at HEC Montreal, delivered on site at the Cote-des-Neiges campus in Montreal with day classes, full-time or part-time, over 16 to 24 months. The curriculum covers strategies, practices, and tools for optimizing the supply chain, including demand forecasting, procurement, planning, inventory management, warehousing, and transportation, alongside continuous improvement methods and analytical skill-building. Core courses include continuous improvement and lean management, optimization of logistics networks, supply chain management fundamentals and trends, and research and intervention in management, with electives available in transportation, warehousing, enterprise resource planning systems, sustainability, and artificial intelligence. Two completion pathways are offered: a thesis stream of seven courses (21 credits) plus a 24-credit thesis, or a supervised-project stream of twelve courses (36 credits) plus a 9-credit supervised project applied to an organizational or research problem. Admission Requirements: Quebec/Canadian applicants need an undergraduate degree of at least 90 credits in business administration or a related field; French-system applicants need at least a general licence or a state-recognised bachelor's degree after three years of university study (180 ECTS) in management or a related field. The minimum cumulative GPA is 3.0 on a 4.3 scale for Quebec/Canadian applicants, or an average of at least 12 out of 20 across all years of study for French-system and other applicants. English is required at the intermediate-advanced level, met through an English-medium education or an approved test or programme, corresponding on HEC Montréal's own table to IELTS Academic 5.5-6.5, TOEFL iBT 72-94 (4-5.5 from January 2026), or PTE Academic 50-65. No admission test is required for Quebec/Canadian applicants; for French-system and other international applicants, an admission test (GRE, TAGE MAGE, or GMAT) is optional but strongly recommended. The Fall term deadline is February 1 for Canadian and international applicants; the Winter term deadline is September 15 for Canadian applicants and June 1 for international applicants.
