Overview
This is a three-year undergraduate program leading to a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) at HEC Montreal, delivered on campus at the school's Cote-Sainte-Catherine building in Montreal. Two entry pathways are available: direct entry for students admitted from a Quebec CEGEP, and an alternate route through a preparatory year for students who completed their prior studies outside the Quebec education system. Once in the BBA, students choose from 15 areas of specialization, and the program can be pursued through a bilingual French-English study option. HEC Montreal holds triple accreditation from AMBA, AACSB International, and EQUIS. The program is designed for Quebec CEGEP graduates as well as international or out-of-province students seeking a broad business education with room to specialize.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Admission to HEC Montréal's Bachelor of Business Administration follows the routes set out on the university's own admission pages, since the programme page itself does not restate them. A Quebec CEGEP graduate needs a DEC and a college R score (cote R) of at least 27.5, having passed three mathematics courses: differential calculus, vector and linear algebra, and integral calculus. Candidates with an R score of 25 to 27.5 may still receive an offer carrying conditions, requiring them to pass eight of the ten compulsory first-year courses within one year; those below 25 may qualify with a DEC plus a year of university study of at least 30 credits at a minimum average of 2.7 on 4.3 (B-), including the required mathematics. Holders of a French secondary baccalaureate need a year of ECG preparatory class with mathematics, or a university year of 60 ECTS averaging at least 12/20 overall and in mathematics, or 30 university credits at 2.7/4.3 including the three mathematics courses; a Canadian secondary diploma from outside Quebec follows the same 30-credit route. Every stream requires an intermediate-advanced level of French. Applicants who meet none of these routes can enter through the BBA with preparatory year.
