This 30-credit, 10-course undergraduate certificate in business analysis – cybersecurity at HEC Montréal combines the analysis, evaluation, and design of business processes with cybersecurity fundamentals: concepts, standards, regulatory frameworks, infrastructure and application security, and cyber-risk management. Nine required courses (27 credits) build on two foundation courses (6 credits), and the program also covers enterprise architecture and database analysis, evaluation, design, and management. It is intended for students interested in the technological aspects of business problems who want to play a key role in managing an organization's IT security strategy. Depending on prior experience and education, graduates can pursue roles such as business analyst in cybersecurity, cybersecurity advisor, or cybersecurity auditor. Instruction is in French, delivered through a mix of in-person and hybrid formats, mainly evenings and weekends. Graduates qualify for the Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP).
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Applicants must meet one of the following: hold a Quebec Diplôme d'études collégiales (DEC); have completed 30 university-level credits in a program (minor, major, certificate, or bachelor's degree); or have four years of full-time work experience (internships excluded, counted from age 18, in any sector, including experience acquired abroad). Applicants must have an intermediate-advanced level of French, demonstrated through their educational background or a recognized French test; those below that level must complete language courses.
