The Aircraft Turbine Technician certificate trains students to inspect, troubleshoot, modify, repair and overhaul turbine aircraft engines and related mechanical systems. Over the one-year program, students train on Pratt & Whitney PT6A-20 turboprop engines, with further work on PW100 turboprop or Rolls-Royce 250 turboshaft engines as they progress. Instruction is delivered on campus at the Summerside Waterfront Campus and combines classroom theory with hands-on practical training on real engines. The program prepares graduates for technician roles maintaining and overhauling gas turbine engines used in aviation, building competency with the tools, procedures and safety practices used in aircraft turbine maintenance shops.
