BA/BS in Bioscience Joint Degree

The Bioscience Joint Degree is offered jointly by Holland College and the University of Prince Edward Island, combining Holland College's applied Bioscience Technology courses with UPEI's science curriculum. Students complete one year of coursework at Holland College, including an intersession, before continuing at UPEI toward a Bachelor of Science in Biotechnology; Holland College awards a Diploma in Bioscience Technology on completion of its year and UPEI awards the bachelor's degree on completion of the final year of study. Coursework covers biology topics such as genetics, cell biology, organisms and microbiology, and chemistry topics including general, physical, organic chemistry and biochemistry, alongside physics, mathematics and statistics. Instruction combines lecture and laboratory work with independent research projects, delivered on campus at Holland College's Prince of Wales Campus before students transition to UPEI coursework.
