Overview

The Advanced Care Paramedicine postgraduate certificate at Holland College builds on the skills of primary care paramedics to prepare them for an expanded first-responder role. The one-year, on-campus program at the Prince of Wales Campus covers operational and procedural skills, critical decision-making in emergency situations, verbal and written communication, interpersonal skills, and leadership development. Students complete the Paramedic Physical Abilities Test and have access to psychological wellness support resources during their studies. Graduates are prepared to practise as advanced care paramedics, providing a higher level of pre-hospital emergency care than primary care paramedics in ambulance and emergency response settings. The program is also offered as a two-year distributed learning option combining online study with on-campus lab sessions for students who cannot attend full-time on campus.

Accepted applicants must complete an Immunization Verification Form and pass a criminal record and vulnerable sector check before practicum or clinical components.
