The Conservation Enforcement certificate prepares students to work as conservation enforcement officers with natural resource agencies across Canada. Delivered over 18 weeks on campus at the Atlantic Police Academy in Slemon Park, the curriculum covers conservation investigations, defensive driving and traffic control, the national use-of-force framework, scenario- and reality-based training, and professional patrol tactics. Students complete on-the-job training placements and, apart from those placements, live in residence at Slemon Park for the duration of the program. Graduates are prepared to enforce wildlife, fisheries and other natural resource legislation. The program requires additional certifications, including swimming, First Aid/CPR, a Pleasure Craft Operator Card and ATV safety, and a Physical Ability Requirement Evaluation Test must be passed to graduate.
