Overview
This 75-credit-hour Master of Divinity is offered by Horizon College and Seminary on a full-time or part-time basis, at its Saskatoon campus and through onsite, livestream, video-on-demand, online-video, and directed-study formats. The program is organized around biblical and theological literacy, pastoral and leadership skills, practical ministry experience combined with spiritual formation, and awareness of Canadian and global cultural context. Students must complete a six-credit ministry practicum, which they may begin only after finishing at least half of the program, and graduation requires a pass or fail summative assessment. Admission pathways described on the page include current Horizon students, distance-education learners, transfer students, and international applicants. The degree suits students preparing for pastoral ministry or other full-time Christian leadership roles who want graduate-level theological training paired with supervised, practicum-based ministry experience and a program structure flexible enough to accommodate part-time or remote study alongside other commitments.
Requirements
Minimum GPA:2.50 / 4.0
Admission Requirements: The programme page carries no admission section of its own and defers to Horizon Seminary's general admission requirements. Standard entry needs a completed undergraduate degree with a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher; those without a full degree but with 90 accredited undergraduate credit hours and a 2.5 cumulative GPA may receive degree equivalency, and applicants 25 or older with professional work experience may gain conditional acceptance, converting to full acceptance on completion of Horizon Seminary's six-course Graduate Certificate at a 2.7 cumulative GPA or higher. Non-native English speakers must meet the language requirement: TOEFL iBT 86 overall with 19 minimum per section, IELTS Academic 6.5 overall with 6 minimum per component, CAEL 70 overall with 60 minimum per component, or CanTEST 4.5 overall. Applicants also submit original transcripts, a pastoral reference and a character reference, and pay a $50 CAD application fee.

Application Deadline:Horizon College & Seminary publishes no fixed application deadline: for domestic students it recommends applying by July for a Fall start and by early December for a January start, with all materials submitted at least three weeks before the term begins, and applications are otherwise processed on a rolling, first-come basis rather than against a published cutoff date. Horizon has paused international admissions for the 2026/2027 academic year and directs prospective international applicants to check back in Fall 2026 for the possibility of applying for 2027/2028; no international deadline is currently published.
