Overview
Humber's Honours Bachelor of Industrial Design is a four-year, project-driven degree in designing everyday products, developing hands-on skills in sketching, digital graphics rendering, model-making and computer-aided design (CAD). Many projects involve industry collaboration, and in third year students choose a specialization in transportation design, product design or interaction design. September intake.

Admission Requirements: Direct entry requires an Ontario Secondary School Diploma or accepted equivalent, including Grade 12 English (ENG4U or equivalent) at a minimum of 65 per cent, Grade 12 Mathematics (MDM4U, MCB4U, MGA4U, MCV4U or MHF4U, or equivalent) at a minimum of 60 per cent, and four further Grade 12 U or M courses, with an overall minimum admission grade point average of 65 per cent; mature-student status or college/university transfer status is accepted in place of the secondary-school route. An applicant without Grade 12U Mathematics, or below 60 per cent in it, may still be considered but must complete a math-equivalency course in their first semester at Humber. A five-piece portfolio plus a short written statement on design knowledge and personal skills are also required, via the Applicant Portal. The English-language requirement here is Humber's institution-wide English Language Proficiency Policy at the Bachelor's Degree band: IELTS Academic overall 6.5 with no band below 6.0, TOEFL iBT 84 with a minimum of 21 in each skill, PTE Academic 58-60, Duolingo English Test 115 or above, or CAEL 60 overall with a Writing score of 60. A Canadian citizen or permanent resident schooled outside Canada must first have their credentials assessed - ICAS course-by-course for a secondary transcript, WES for post-secondary study.

For Fall 2027 entry, applications open early October 2026, with Humber offers beginning as early as November 2026. Highly competitive programs use an equal-consideration deadline of 1 February 2027: applications received by then are assessed together with no earlier offers; later applications are reviewed first-come, first-served while space remains. Fall 2027 offer acceptance is due 1 May 2027. International applicants apply directly through the Humber Web Application and are reviewed on a rolling basis, up to one year before their intended start term; no fixed international deadline is published, and applying for a study permit 3-5 months before the start date is recommended.
