Admission Requirements: Applicants need a Diplôme d'Études Secondaires including Secondary 5 Language of Instruction, Secondary 5 Second Language, Secondary 4 Mathematics, Secondary 4 Science and Technology (or Applied Science and Technology), and Secondary 4 History and Citizenship Education, or a Secondary School Vocational Diploma with Secondary 5 Language of Instruction, Secondary 5 Second Language and Secondary 4 Mathematics, or education the College deems equivalent. Beyond the general diploma, this program requires a visual submission — one artwork in any medium (drawing, painting, sculpture, collage or digital media) responding to the theme 'identity' — plus a written letter of introduction of about 300 words, in English or French, explaining the creative process behind the artwork and the applicant's motivation for studying Visual Arts at John Abbott. English is John Abbott's language of instruction; the College does not publish a separate IELTS/TOEFL minimum for general admission, and international applicants' academic credentials are instead assessed against their own country of study through SRAM's international admission service. Both the artwork and the letter are submitted with the SRAM application by the March 1 deadline for a Fall start.
