Overview

The Hospitality & Tourism Management Diploma is a two-year, four-term, apprenticeship-style Keyano College credential combining classroom theory with paid work placements across the hospitality and tourism industry. Developed with industry input, the curriculum covers customer service, business communications and technology, financial management, marketing and sales, safety and security, workplace regulations, and human-resource management and leadership, alongside several work-integrated learning terms. Students gain practical, industry-networked experience through the paid placements, preparing graduates for supervisory roles in hotels, restaurants, resorts, cruise lines and tourism-development organizations, or for entrepreneurship within the sector. The diploma is offered at Keyano College's Clearwater Campus in Fort McMurray, Alberta. Admission requires an Alberta high-school diploma with minimum grades in English and Math 20-1/20-2 or 30-1/30-2, with the same requirements applying to mature applicants aged 21 and older. Applicants whose first language is not English must meet the college's English-language-proficiency requirement before admission.
