Kwantlen Polytechnic University's Associate of Arts Degree in Creative Writing is a 60-credit undergraduate credential offered by the Faculty of Arts. Within the university's Associate of Arts Degree framework, students complete a 15-credit Creative Writing concentration consisting of Introduction to Creative Writing (CRWR 1100), Introduction to Craft and Process in Creative Writing (CRWR 1200), one English course at the 2000 level or higher, and two further courses selected from options such as New Forms and Media: Networked Narratives, New Forms and Media: Digital Spaces, Fiction and Poetry, and Special Topics. A minimum grade of C is required in each course, and courses that satisfy prerequisites for later courses may require a higher grade. As with all Associate of Arts programs, courses used toward the degree must be transferable to Simon Fraser University, the University of British Columbia, the University of Northern British Columbia, or the University of Victoria. Graduates receive the Associate of Arts Degree in Creative Writing and may continue into KPU's Bachelor of Arts, Major in Creative Writing. The program has September, January, and May intakes.
