Overview
En un an, ce programme enseigne la base de la gestion d'un environnement forestier : différencier les principaux végétaux de la forêt, effectuer des traitements sylvicoles, utiliser la scie à chaîne et entretenir des équipements de foresterie. Vu la nature pratique de la formation, une grande partie du temps se passe en travaux sur le terrain. La personne diplômée est apte à assurer la protection d'un territoire forestier contre le braconnage, les incendies, les maladies et les insectes, et peut poursuivre vers le diplôme Techniques en environnement forestier puis la spécialisation Technologie en environnement forestier et faunique. La Cité est le seul collège à offrir ce programme en français en Ontario.

Admission Requirements: Domestic entry follows La Cité's general secondary-school route: the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent, or the New Brunswick DES, in each case or success in La Cité's mature-applicant test for candidates of 19 or over without a diploma; the page lists the same Ontario requirement again under its Quebec heading, so Quebec applicants should confirm their own DES equivalence with the admissions office. The programme states no further course prerequisites and no programme-specific language-test score. La Cité's institution-wide language-test page sets a minimum of 375 points (written comprehension) on the TCF or 352 points on the TEF for applicants who must demonstrate French competency by test.
