Selon un modèle de classe vivante, cette formation d'un an de préposé aux services de soutien personnel se déroule en partie directement à la résidence Saint-Louis de Santé Bruyère à Orléans : tous les laboratoires pratiques y sont donnés dans un espace dédié à l'enseignement, entouré de professionnels de la santé, tandis que la théorie est offerte en ligne avec la cohorte du campus d'Ottawa. L'étudiant apprend à fournir des soins complets aux personnes atteintes de maladies diverses, en établissement ou à domicile, et deux stages en milieu de travail complètent la formation.

Admission Requirements: Domestic entry requires the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD), the Quebec DES, or the New Brunswick DES; candidates of 19 or over without a diploma may instead pass La Cité's mandatory competency assessment, scoring at least 225 points in written comprehension and at least 225 points in numeracy, under any of the three provincial headings. A good command of English is required because clinical placements run mainly in Ontario (Ottawa) and Quebec (Gatineau) and students must communicate in English with clients and care teams. Placement prerequisites include a properly fitted N95 mask, a clean vulnerable-sector or criminal-record check less than six months old, a student ID card, an up-to-date immunisation record, and a Level C CPR/AED certificate valid throughout the programme; some placements fall outside the Ottawa area, arranged by the student and approved by programme coordination, and may run evenings, nights or weekends. International applicants qualify by holding a baccalaureate/secondary diploma or being in their final year of secondary school with proof of enrolment.
