Cert in Pre-employment Electrician

The Pre-employment Electrician program is a 16-week, face-to-face certificate delivered at Lakeland's Vermilion campus that prepares students to become electrical apprentices. Classroom and lab instruction covers electrical theory, the Canadian electrical code, control circuits, splicing, alarm systems, tools, trades mathematics, and safety training. After completing classroom instruction, graduates may be eligible to write the first-period Alberta apprenticeship exam and then complete a 120-hour work placement, giving them a head start on a full electrical apprenticeship without needing a sponsoring employer to enrol.
